Colorado Cares Day 2004 strengthens communities
The City and County of Broomfield was concerned that some of its residents may not know where to obtain needed services, so it set out to change that. When Broomfield congregations of the Boulder Colorado Stake of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints asked how they could help their community for Colorado Cares Day 2004, they received the assignment to deliver packets of materials to selected neighborhoods.
About 45 volunteers gathered on Aug. 31, 2004, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1250 North Main Street, Broomfield, a church building in the Stake. They took stacks of pamphlets and fliers and divided them into numerous packets. Then, the volunteers walked through their assigned neighborhoods delivering information the residents were likely to need but may not know where to obtain it.
